Ep 7. What if stress weren’t bad for you?

None of us like feeling stressed, but is it as bad for us as we think?

In this episode I explore the nuances of when and how stress can actually be good for us and when it actually can be bad for us and our health.

I dive into some research that shows how our mindset or beliefs about stress directly influence if our experience of stress is positive or negative. I offer some reframes to change how you think and experience stress so it's less likely to be debilitating and somatic practices to move through stress. If you experience stress in your life this episode is a must! I also provide MANY caveats! This episode is focuses on stress, not the stressor or the cause and it's all too real that our society intentionally creates an abundance of stressors that could be avoided or minimized. Changing our mindset can only do so much and we need real structural change, but until then let's change what's within our control - our mindset and what we do in response to stress.
